JUBILEE UPDATE

Read our latest update from Jubilee Community Center...

Dear Jubilee family and friends,

We pray that you each of you are well—looking to our Father each day for new grace and new mercies and resting in His goodness and control. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for everything that the Lord is doing in our community and His transformation of hearts that we get to witness. What a privilege to be able to watch God’s story and work unfold, and to be able to do that alongside each and every one of you. We are truly grateful.

Our new school year began in September as the Dominican government has now allowed schools to reopen in person. We are thankful to have a sense of normalcy and for the new opportunities before us.

Every day we receive 24 preschool students and 6 students in our alternative schooling program. The preschool is the only one in our community, providing quality education and a safe and healthy space for the kids to learn and grow. Many young people in our community fall through the cracks of the education system because of a lack of proper documentation or learning deficits. We opened our alternative schooling program after seeing that these young people literally had no other option and would have been left without an education.

Afternoons at the center are vibrant and full of laughter and learning as many kids from the community finish school and head to the center. The center continues to provide a daily meal for any child from the community. Jubilee also offers a daily Homework Help class, English classes, technology classes, a robotics club, and an arts and design class.

We are full of gratitude for the many volunteers who come all week to love, teach, and invest in the kids of Pontezuela. Each of these programs were prayed over and designed to be avenues to disciple the youth of our community and to provide them with practical skills and education that will provide future opportunities and jobs—that their families may experience transformation for generations to come because of this redemptive and holistic work in their lives.

More than anything, our prayer is that God will continue to transform hearts and lives. We have watched in awe as people have been changed by the hope and love that only God can give and we are honored to be a part of the process. May His Kingdom come, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Please pray about how YOU can be involved in what God is doing in Pontezuela…

-PRAY for the community—for holistic transformation and hearts that are changed by God’s love.

-COME and serve—come and experience what God is doing in the Dominican Republic. Serve with us and be changed in the process by what God is doing in the nations.

-GIVE—Give that we may be able to keep on serving the community of Pontezuela. We operate fully by donations and truly could not do this without you. www.comunidadmulticultural.com/donate

Keep looking to the Father and trusting in His goodness and His plan! He is the One who truly makes all things new.

With much love,

The Jubilee Community Center Family
